The Mission

To support the expanded scope of EMS within the community, through advocacy, coordination of member

auxiliary activities, public awareness, technical assistance, funding and training.

The Vision

  • To enhance the quality of life through the promotion of general wellness and safety of our citizens by supporting the delivery of expanded services by local EMS services.
  • To become a recognized leader in the support of the EMS and its outreach efforts to the community.
  • To promote the expansion of the scope and impact of EMS within the community.
  • To create and support the utilization of effective health based community outreach programs.
  • To develop the talent and resources needed to implement our initiatives and produce the desired outcome(s).
  • To be transparent in our activities through the communication of identity and purpose to our funders and the larger community.

Our Goals

  • Raising funds to allow the expansion of the scope of EMS without relying on tax or service revenues..
  • To create avenues for the community to show its appreciation to EMS providers and in particular, volunteer members..
  • Develop additional resources for EMS via citizen advocates who can provide non-operational assistance allowing the service to develop, implement, and sustain community outreach programs that will help EMS meet the needs of the community..

The projects we are planning so far are: Conduct a needs assessment to prioritize the scope of the EMS expansion and outreach programs. Develop (by May 15, 2011) and deliver throughout 2011 at least eight presentations to local community groups to provide the mission of EMS Outreach Hudson and solicit funds and support. Assist EMS in the development and promotion of a community AED/CPR Training Program presented to a minimum of 10 businesses throughout Hudson in 2011. Research and obtain grants to fund programs to be offered by EMS. Plan one fundraising event in 2011 to fund the EMS Outreach Hudson programs. Recreate and promote the use of the Vital Health Record (Cold Pac) program. “EMS Outreach Hudson” is a component fund of the Hudson Community Foundation.
