Hudson Community Foundation is a non-profit organization that is managed by a group of residents dedicated to preserving and enhancing the unique community of Hudson.  HCF assesses needs within the community, aggregates funds and makes grants to those organizations best suited to meet the needs of the community.  Our knowledge about the community enables us to provide comprehensive solutions, as well as to start, seed and guide new organizations.  Efforts are focused in four key areas:  youth, social services, the arts, and the environment/historic preservation.

Additionally, we help families create a legacy of philanthropy by providing tax-wise financial vehicles that make giving easy, including the ability to set up their own family foundations through HCF. Our Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are self-directed by individuals and/or their families.

Hudson, Ohio – May 2, 2011 – Hudson Community Foundation (HCF) has made three grants to community-based organizations which are doing work in our schools and in our community.  These 1st quarter of 2011 grants total $5,500.  The Foundation makes grants to organizations that support local youth education and recreation, arts and culture, historical and environmental preservation, and social services.  The Foundation’s latest grants include:

  • $2,000 to the Akron Symphony. The one-year grant is toward the sponsorship of a 2011 Concert for Kids Hudson performance.  With public and school funding for music programs declining, the Hudson Community Foundation is pleased to award $1,000 from its Arts and Culture Fund and another $1,000 from the Tobin Fund for Culture, Arts and Preservation.
