Hudson Community Foundation is thrilled to join the global community in celebrating National Philanthropy Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the immense impact of philanthropy in our communities. This day, observed on November 15th, offers an opportunity to honor the individuals, organizations, and communities that make a positive difference in the world through their selfless acts of giving and generosity.

National Philanthropy Day, first established in 1986 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), serves as a reminder of the vital role that philanthropy plays in creating a more compassionate and inclusive world. It is a day to acknowledge and celebrate those who contribute their time, resources, and skills to support the causes they are passionate about.

Hudson Community Foundation, which has been dedicated to enhancing the overall quality of life in the community, is proud to be a part of this global movement. As we observe National Philanthropy Day, we reflect on our commitment to support numerous, community-based organizations, and facilitate the philanthropy of charitable-minded individuals, families, and organizations. We continue to support the needs of our community like filling the food bank, and mental health & drug prevention programs in the schools - while helping local organizations build long-term assets to sustain their charitable interests. We extend our deepest gratitude to all our donors, volunteers, partners, and supporters who have been instrumental in our mission's success.

To celebrate National Philanthropy Day, Hudson Community Foundation has planned a series of events and initiatives, including collaborative philanthropy with our local food pantry’s volunteer committee hosting a Donation Drive to collect essential needed items, promoting Random Act of Kindness and an appreciation event to recognize and thank our donors.

We invite the community to join us and consider contributing their time, talents, or resources to make a positive impact.

Random Act of Kindness

During the week of November 13th, National Philanthropy Day serves as a reminder that giving is not just about making a financial contribution; it's about creating positive change, fostering goodwill, and building a better world for future generations.  Imagine a world where you can succeed by being nice. Where we all pay it forward. Where people look out for each other.

It all starts with an act ---  join our donation drive and support our local food bank for neighbors in need, write an uplifting note, help rake a neighbor’s lawn, let someone merge into traffic, pay it forward and buy a person a coffee, send an encouraging email to a colleague, friend or family member, recognize a local business are a few ideas.
